There are many groups affected by abortion, but three of these need our support the most.
- Unborn children are the most innocent and helpless people. We must be their voice and protect their right to live.
- Women facing an unplanned pregnancy need our understanding and care. They also need information about their health and the baby they are carrying. During my time as a Birthright volunteer, I was able to serve these women face-to-face. Each faces a different struggle, and they need us to provide the assistance they can’t find elsewhere.
- Women who have experienced abortion need our compassion and support. Abortion ends the life of a child, but it also changes the life of the mother forever. These women carry with them the memory of their abortion. They need us to listen and understand.
Being pro-life is not just about abortion. Human life is precious at all ages. Public policy and healthcare policy should protect the vulnerable from government directed end-of-life decisions. I will work to protect life at all ages.
Minnesota has a proud heritage of hunting and shooting sports, and peaceable citizens have a right to own guns to protect their person and property. I respect your Second Amendment rights. I voted for the “Castle Doctrine,” permit reciprocity between states, and the right of Minnesota residents to purchase firearms from any state.
